Quartz Countertops in Macomb County, MI
Quartz is engineered stone made from crushed natural quartz bound with resin. It gives you a consistent color, a non-porous surface and no sealing, ever.
What Are Quartz Countertops?
Quartz countertops are manufactured slabs. Natural quartz is ground up, mixed with resins and pigments, and pressed into slabs. That is why quartz can look like marble, concrete or solid white with the same color from one end of the kitchen to the other.
Because the resin fills the gaps, quartz is non-porous. Coffee, wine and oil sit on the surface instead of soaking in, and it never needs a sealer. The tradeoff is heat: the resin can be damaged by very hot pans, so trivets are a must.
Why Homeowners Choose Quartz
- Consistent color and pattern across the whole kitchen
- Non-porous, so stains wipe off
- Never needs sealing
- Marble-look options without marble upkeep
- Popular whites and light grays for bright kitchens
Best for: Families who want a bright, clean look with the least upkeep.
Caring for Quartz Countertops
- Clean with mild soap and water
- Do not use bleach-based wipes or harsh chemicals
- Always use a trivet under hot pots and pans
- Avoid setting slow cookers or griddles directly on the surface
Edges, Sinks and Cutouts
Common edge profiles include eased, beveled, bullnose and ogee. We cut undermount, top-mount and apron-front sink openings, faucet holes and cooktop cutouts to your fixtures, and we plan seams with you during the measure.
What Affects the Price of Quartz Countertops
Every job is priced after we measure, because no two kitchens are the same. These are the things that move the number:
- Total square footage and number of pieces
- The slab you choose (some colors cost more than others)
- Edge profile
- Sink, faucet and cooktop cutouts
- Tear-out and haul-away of old countertops
- Backsplash pieces and full-height backsplash
You get one written price before we cut anything.

Questions
Quartz Countertop FAQs
Does quartz need sealing?
No. Quartz is non-porous, so it never needs a sealer.
Is quartz heat resistant?
Not like granite. The resin in quartz can discolor or crack from very hot pans, so always use a trivet.
Can quartz look like marble?
Yes. Many quartz colors are made to look like white marble with gray or gold veining.
Is quartz good for a bathroom vanity?
Yes. It resists stains from makeup and toiletries and needs no sealing, which makes it an easy vanity top.
